On Saturday, August 21st, On Our Toes in the Hamptons, the annual performance and fundraising gala benefiting Evidence, A Dance Company was held at the Watermill, NY home of event Co-Chairs the Honorable Bernard H. Jackson and Joyce Mullins-Jackson, Chair of the Evidence Board of Directors. Long recognized as the premier African-American cultural and social event of the Hamptons summer calendar, the event honored Prince Kunle Omilana of Nigeria and his wife Princess Keisha Omilana for their longtime support and dedication to the company. The late afternoon affair featured specialty cocktails by Moet Hennessey USA, a luxury online auction on and an electrifying performance, "Ebony Magazine: To A Village."

On Our Toes in the Hamptons brilliantly merged the glamour of the Hamptons social scene with heartfelt sincerity and support for the Evidence mission to promote understanding of the human experience in the African Diaspora through dance and storytelling and to provide sensory connections to history and tradition through music, movement, and spoken word, leading deeper into issues of spirituality, community responsibility and liberation. The Jacksons, Board Members, event committee and guests, most of whom attend the event every year, exuded a unique warmth and enthusiasm that exploded on the dancefloor with the invitation to “dance with the dancers.” Poolside, Hermès displayed the limited edition custom scarf created to commemorate the Company’s 25th anniversary. The scarf is available for purchase at the French design house’s East Hampton location, and a portion of sales will benefit Evidence.
