First Lady Michelle Obama joined celebrities, sports figures and schoolchildren for the National Education Association's Read Across America, an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss.

In honor of NEA's Read Across America Day, Akon, multi platinum recording artist and founder of the Konfidence Foundation (left); his mother, Kine Gueye Thiam, President of the Konfidence Foundation (center) and Bianca Hamilton, Assistant Principal of Glen Haven Elementary School read Dr. Seuss' "Oh, The Places You'll Go" during a visit with second graders at Glen Haven Elementary in Atlanta to distribute books and discuss the importance of reading on March 2, 2011 in Decatur, Georgia.
