BlackGivesBack Contributor Set to Host 4th Annual STEM Career Fair & Exhibition in Atlanta

We're proud of one of our own, Tokiwa T. Smith, founder and executive director of Science, Engineering and Mathematics Link, Inc. (SEM Link), a nonprofit organization that promotes student achievement and career exploration in math and science for K-12 students by connecting them with individuals with backgrounds in science, engineering and mathematics.  Tokiwa is our contributor for the San Francisco/Oakland area.

On Saturday, May 14th, SEM Link will host its 4th Annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Career Fair and Exhibition at Georgia Tech’s Student Center Ballroom in Atlanta, GA. This event will provide K-12 students with an opportunity to explore careers and meet and interact with professionals in these fields. This event is free and open to the public; pre-registration isn't required for attendance but is strongly suggested at

The STEM Career Fair and Exhibition is the signature event for SEM Link’s Math and Science Career Academy, which exposes K-12 students to math and science through hands on activities, real-world applications and career exploration. Since its inception, SEM Link has enhanced educational experiences for over 1000 metro Atlanta youth, and in January 2010, SEM Link expanded its programs to the San Francisco Bay Area.  John R. Moore III, Board of Directors Strategic Partnership Chair shared, “The impact that I have seen SEM Link have on young people has been incredible. When their eyes and minds are opened to the possibilities of how cool STEM is, it’s amazing.”
