Mark Covington, founder and president of Georgia Street Community Collective (GSCC) in Detroit, is a finalist in the Energizer Keep Going® Hall of Fame award that recognizes everyday people who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities. Mark makes it his mission to improve his neighborhood through urban farming. He began by cleaning up vacant lots and planting gardens, using the food he grew to feed disadvantaged people of his neighborhood.
