b michael America Salutes 200 Years of Service of the New York City Mission Society

On Wednesday, September 14th, 2011 at the American Museum of Natural History, famed fashion designer b michael presented the b michael America Spring 2012 Collection during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

The designer used his show to salute and raise awareness for the great work of the New York City Mission Society. The organization has supported children and families for 200 years – encouraging resiliency in the face of many changes, self-confidence and the ability to make positive life choices. Its core values include respect for every person served, encouraging youth to explore their individuality in a safe and nurturing environment, and seeing possibilities where others see limitations.

In support of the b michael Spring 2012 collection, legendary actresses Cicely Tyson and Dina Merrill were spotted sitting on the front row as were Phylicia Rashad, Myrna Colley-Lee, Desiree Rogers, Tamara Tunie, Gregory Generet, Richard Mayhew, Will & Anthony Nunziata, Melba Moore, Alva Chinn, Kathryn Chenault and Jean Chatzky. The b michael America Spring 2012 collection was sponsored by Morgan Stanley Smith Barney.
