The New York Urban League Young Professionals (NYULYP) pay homage to the Harlem Renaissance with REBIRTH! 2012: The Harlem Renaissance meets The Digital Renaissance, its annual red carpet fundraiser affair, to be held at 7pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Taj II. The theme for REBIRTH! 2012 will focus on the way young professionals connect today - digitally.
This reception style event, which attracts 250+ attendees, will bring together today’s trendsetters and tastemakers who effortlessly connect with the world of politics, academia, entertainment and fashion through digital forms of communication. They are proud to honor Kristal High, Editor-in-chief at Politic365. Proceeds from REBIRTH! 2012 benefit NYULYP's Annual Backpack Drive for low income families and the Whitney M. Young Scholarship for high school seniors who excel academically and demonstrate a commitment to community service. There will be captivating performances by musical artists Amaany Clarke, Charly & Margaux, and Keith Jacobs.
“REBIRTH! is a party with a purpose where we raise money for scholarships and school supplies at the same time tantalizing the 5 senses,” says NYULYP President Jemar T. Ward.
Tying into the digital theme, NYULYP is utilizing Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Pinterest, and LinkedIn to connect and engage with their potential attendees. The twitter hashtag for the REBIRTH! is #YPRebirth. To purchase tickets, visit www.nycrebirth.com.
