Greater Hudson Valley (NY) Chapter Celebrates Annual “Ladies in Hats” Luncheon & Brooklyn Chapter, The Links Incorporated Celebrates 60th Anniversary Benefiting Salute to Youth, Inc.
NEW YORK – Two chapters of The Links, Incorporated hosted annual galas, honoring community leaders and raising funds for scholarships and local nonprofit organizations. On October 26, 2013, the Greater Hudson Valley (NY) Chapter, The Links, Incorporated celebrated its 9th annual “Ladies in Hats” Luncheon and “Hats Off” Award Presentation. Over 500 elegantly attired guests gathered at the Doubletree by Hilton in Tarrytown, NY to honor Dr. Dorothy Cowser Yancy, Ph. D., President of Shaw University and Cleo Dixon of Health Plus, Amerigroup with the Community Leadership Award. A highlight of the luncheon was the Hat Fashion Show featuring exquisite hat designs available for purchase. This popular event helped to fund many community programs targeting families in Dutchess, Rockland, Putnam and Westchester counties.

The Brooklyn Chapter of The Links, Incorporated celebrated a milestone – its 60th Anniversary Dinner Dance on October 27, 2013 at Terrace on the Park in Flushing, NY benefiting Salute to Youth, Inc. Over 600 guests were welcomed by Link President, Hon. Cheryl E. Chambers followed by an international buffet and dancing by the sounds of the Warren Daniels Band. Serving as anniversary celebration co-chairs were Evelyn Castro C’Arceuil, Ph.D and Clotilde Guinier Stenson. Among the guests attending: Colvin and Sandy Grannum, the honorable Eric Adams, Alvin & Debra Lamb, Honorable Betty J.
